Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat

Originally described to me as the book that birthed modern conservationism, this true account of Mowat’s time living amongst arctic wolves in northern Canada reads as much like a novel as it does a field guide. Sent by the Canadian government as part of their attempts to eradicate the wolf population, Mowat discovers through his cohabitation that it’s not the wolves that are dangerous.
