Staff Reviews

This well-crafted mystery builds momentum and suspense as the tale unfolds. Ten years ago six Oxford students vacationed at a farmhouse in the countryside of France. Severine, the French girl next door, became an integral part of their week together. On the last day of their visit, she disappeared. Now the discovery of Severine's body unearths long buried secrets that threaten everyone.

— Trey

They were six university students from Oxford -- friends and sometimes more -- spending an idyllic week in a French farmhouse. It was supposed to be the perfect summer getaway . . . then they met Severine, the girl next door. For Kate Channing, she was an unwelcome presence, undermining the group's loyalties. And after a huge altercation on the last night, Kate knew nothing would ever be the same. There are some things you can't forgive. And there are some people you can't forget . . . like Severine, who was never seen again.
